Compared with traditional dry cargo ships,container transportation by standard transport unit is more convenient,more efficient and safer.Therefore,container ships gradually replace the traditional dry cargo ships into the main force of maritime transportation.From the point of view of scale effect,the greater the main scale of the ship,the more obvious its economic benefits.Since the 1990 s,with the gradual maturity of key technologies such as high-strength hull materials and high-power marine engines,container ships have officially entered the era of large-scale,and gradually presented some new development trends.In view of the many problems faced by container ship large-scale,this paper studies the fatigue strength of the transition structure at the supporting transverse bulkhead of ultra-large container ships,and compares the three different structural forms to ensure the fatigue strength of the transition structure is satisfied with design requirements.Based on the system analysis of the development history of container ships,the problems faced by super-large container ships,and the transitional structure of container ship transverse bulkheads,the fatigue strength analysis of transition structures was studied by using finite element based fatigue simplified stress analysis method.Structural Fatigue Assessment Simplifies the basic principle of the analysis method,deduces the calculation formula of the cumulative damage degree,and uses the equivalent design wave method to calculate the wave load.According to the theoretical guidance of the fatigue specification,the fatigue strength calculation of the supporting transverse bulkhead transition structure is carried out.The fatigue check location is selected,the SN curve is determined,and the fatigue load,hot spot stress,design stress range and each of the cabin structure are calculated.The fatigue damage degree of the structure was evaluated under fatigue conditions.In the study of the fatigue strength of the transition structure by the simplified stress analysis method,the fatigue strength calculations were carried out for three different transitional structures respectively,and the cumulative damage degree and fatigue life ofeach structural form at the hot spot were obtained and compared.For the analysis,a relatively better structural form is obtained.
