Research On Schedule Management Of Railway Construction Project In Benguela Based On Critical Chain Method

With the implementation of the "One Belt And One Road" development initiative,China is required to further improve the management ability of high-speed railway technology and infrastructure construction.In the complicated and varying construction environment abroad,railway construction enterprises in China lack enough research on the problem of how to further improve the domestic project management experience according to the characteristics and rules of foreign construction projects,and find out a set of effective management methods applicable to foreign construction projects.This thesis studies the progress management of Benguela railway construction project,which is a large foreign railway construction project undertaken by No.4 Engineering Corporation Limited of CR20 G.The construction of the project requires the design of a scientific system and a progress management plan which conforms to the specific situation of foreign countries.In addition,the project progress management level still has a lot of room for improvement.Through in-depth understanding of the environment in Angola,this paper has developed a project schedule management plan and a series of measures to ensure the project progress can be carried out as planned.This thesis studies the domestic and foreign research results related to the project schedule management,combs through the experience of the Benguela railway construction project,which laid a solid theoretical analysis foundation for the thesis.Furthermore,this paper introduces the general situation,the structure of the management organization and the construction content of the Benguela railway construction project.It also analyzes the current situation of the project schedule management and the potential problems.Through the analysis of data and field investigation,the paper uses the WBS structure decomposition method to decompose the Benguela railway construction project,and obtains the hierarchical decomposition structure and subdivision procedures.The critical chain method is used to optimize the critical path and the key time node of the project and plan the project schedule of the Benguela railway construction.Upon completion of above work,this paper plans and designs schedule management plans of the project from the aspects of formulation,implementation,inspection and adjustment of the schedule plan.This is completed by drawing lessons from mature experience of domestic project schedule management,combining with the situation of natural environment,social environment,human resources condition and goods transportation of the Benguela railway construction project and using the scientific project progress control method.Finally,this research has made safeguard measures to guarantee the smooth implementation of the project schedule management regarding management organization structure,construction technology,production safety,the ideological and political education and enterprise culture,and project stakeholders project management communication,performance evaluation and rewards,etc.
