With the development of the automobile industry and the renewal of the technology, people's demand for cars has not simply limited to power and economy besides the premise of meeting the emission regulations, the requirement of space comfort in the vehicle has been paid more and more attention.Thermal comfort is one of the most important parts in the evaluation of passenger cabin comfort, the study of thermal comfort of passenger cabin is also paid more and more attention by automobile companies and consumers.Nowadays, the research methods of thermal comfort of passenger cabin are mainly focused on thermal comfort test and computer simulation. The main contents of this paper are shown as follows:Firstly,a managed thermal comfort test is done and the CFD model is established according to a specific car.The experimental process is simulated, and its resultsincluding the velocity, temperature, relative humidity of air and the boundary irradiation are compared with the test to verify the accuracy of the CFD simulation model. Then, taking a northern city of China as an example, the simulation of driving based on the validated model during a summer time is carried out andthe distribution field of air flow, air velocity, temperature, relative humidity, and boundary mean radiant temperature is analyzed. The thermal comfort of the passengers is evaluated via the weighted value of PMV and the values are 0.5350 and 0.0538 respectively. The driver and copilot are generally in a comfortable thermal environment. Finally, the influencing factors including the radiation, the temperature and flow rate of supplyed air are analyzed, and the new evaluation of thermal comfort of passenger cabin is given in this paper, and the appropriate ranges of influencing univariates are given.Under the analysis of working conditions and single variables in this paper, the recommended ranges of glass transmissivity,he temperature and flow rate of supplyed air are 0.381 to 0.487,8.171?to 8.763? and 418.10m3/h to 450.19m3/h respectively, the analysis results can be used as reference for the design of automotive air conditioning system.
