City is the most important spatial form carrying various activities of human society.It is the product of the development of human material and spiritual civilization.With the continuous evolution of urbanization,the proportion of urban residents in the total population has been increasing,and therefore the distance between human and nature is getting farther and farther.Cities are mainly made up of artifacts,meanwhile as an important spatial entity supporting the urban ecosystem,the green space within the city can provide a variety of ecological,cultural,aesthetic,economic and healthy functions for urban residents,so as to be close to nature.Functions are determined by structure,and the benefit of green space to the city will be affected by its own spatial pattern.The purpose of this paper is to construct a system to analyze the dynamic change of urban green space pattern and its driving forces,and take Guangzhou as a typical city for case analysis,so as to provide a basis for improving the level of urban green space.Based on summarizing a large number of relevant documents,this paper combs the concepts and connotations of urban green space and its spatial pattern.This paper regards landscape ecology,geography,regional planning and land policy as the theoretical basis,RS(remote sensing)and GIS(geographic information system)as the technical means to analyze the dynamic changes of urban green space pattern with landscape pattern indexes,and build the influencing factor system to analyze driving forces qualitatively and quantitatively.In the empirical research,this paper delimits the research area in Guangzhou,and uses professional software to process image data of many years(1993-2013)to extract the spatial information of green space by landscape pattern index and land classification detection method.The results,revealing the dynamic changes of urban green space pattern in time series,imply :(1)The decline of green space coverage,fragmentation and the regularization of patches’ edge;(2)The overall trend of central urban area and peripheral urban area is consistent with the whole research region.The degree of central urban area is higher than peripheral urban area’s,but they are converging gradually.(3)Several concentrated large green space regions experienced different degrees of degeneration.In the first half of the period,“Green to non-ecology” patches spread mainly in the extension mode,and in the second half,the patches are mainly distributed in the filling mode.Afterwards,this research collects the historical statistical data,policy documents,news reports and other relevant documents of Guangzhou according to the influencing factors system.Grey relation analysis or qualitative analysis shows that:(1)Population structure,industrial structure and urban construction are the most important socioeconomic factors to influence the green space pattern of Guangzhou(2)The policy factors such as reform and opening policy,tax system reform,farmland protection system and urban planning symbolize national strategy and local policy’s impacts on urban green space.At last,the paper draws conclusions on the above research process and puts forward relevant policy recommendations,summarizes the existing shortcomings,and future research directions.Hope this paper can provide some reference for urban construction and green space system’ improvement.
