Research On The Adaptive Design For Tourism Based On The Characteristics And Evolution Of Lijiang Traditional Settlement Space

The traditional settlements in the Lijiang area formed a unique spatial form during the historical development process,which contained its special character space.With the introduction of tourism in the later period,although these traditional settlements still maintain the original spatial pattern in their entirety,the function and significance of their internal space have evolved.In addition,based on these traditional settlements,some new areas have been constructed.The spatial characteristics of these areas are rooted in tradition and is related to modern needs,but in some respects it does not convey the “spirit” of traditional settlement space.In the current planning and design,how to combine the quality of the traditional settlement space with the needs of modern functions is a question worth considering.This thesis takes the traditional settlements in Lijiang as the research object,aiming to find a design strategy that can continue the character of traditional space and meet the current tourism needs in terms of spatial function.I think that in order to achieve this goal,firstly,the research on the generation mechanism and morphological characteristics of the traditional settlement space should be carried out to grasp the information of the traditional settlement space characteristics.Secondly,it should also carry out related research on the space under the influence of tourism and some new space based on traditional settlements.The characteristics of these spaces reflect the current needs,and control the spatial functional properties in the new design.This thesis attempts to find the spatial characteristics of traditional settlements in Lijiang area and the new requirements for spatial functions in the context of tourism through these two aspects,and expounds the adaptive design strategy described in this paper through a practical case.
