The background of this paper is based on the current status of contemporary architectural design and cross-disciplinary development of the industry.Taking narratology as the theoretical basis of the study, literature and history exhibitions are the research objectives of space type, and explore how to use the characteristics and methods of narratology to form exhibition architecture. In this way,the exhibition space is enough to assist its exhibition content for narrative interpretation. This paper, through theoretical analysis and case analysis, explains and puts forward different levels of narrative requirements or different exhibition content requirements, how to expand the spatial narrative of the exhibition building. In the process of theoretical combing, the origin and characteristics of two different disciplinary concepts, narratology and expo architecture, are briefly reviewed, and the essential connection of their interdisciplinary combination is pointed out.At the same time,it is divided into three narrative levels according to the different purposes of creating narrative space in the process of architectural narration. In the precedent section, the famous private museum cluster-The Jianchuan Museum Cluster in China is selected to build the hierarchy according to three different narrative purposes. Moreover, five corresponding single building venues were selected to elaborate further the related theories involved in the construction method of the spatial narrative process,as well as interpret and analyze the specific space and its connotation. Finally, several corresponding design strategies are extracted and summarized according to different levels. The innovation of this paper lies in the following aspects: firstly, some individual buildings in settlement of the Jianchuan Museum Cluster are analyzed in a typological way according to their spatial narrative techniques,to provide a reference for the spatial analysis of similar architectural exhibitions in the future.Secondly, from the perspective of spatial narrative, this paper classifies and analyzes the components of the exhibition building space, and summarizes the design strategies that may apply to some expressions,to provide some references for the design of similar exhibition buildings in the future. |
