With the increase of energy pressure,the pure methanol car has attracted much attention.Because of high octane number and good antiknock ability,the combustion characteristics of the methanol engine are different from the gasoline engine,and the alternating load for the crankshaft-connecting rod bearings is different from the gasoline engine.Based on the impact for the crankshaft-connecting rod bearings of methanol engine is higher than gasoline engine after combustion.Design,dynamic analysis and experimental research on crankshaft-connecting rod bearings of car methanol engine developed by the company in this text,eventually developed crankshaft-connecting rod bearings of the methanol engine.The performance of the methanol engine was determined by referring to the performance parameters of the same methanol engine and prototype gasoline engine.The methanol fuel durability test of the prototype was carried out.The results showed that the alloy of the crankshaft-connecting rod bearings for the prototype peeled off and could not apply to the requirement of methanol burning.Therefore,calculated the load of the crankshaft-connecting rod bearings and designed the new structural parameters.The minimum oil film thickness,the clearance between the bearings and the journal were calculated,used the new material and the lubricating oil grade.Modelled the finite element of the bearings system,used nonlinear multi-body dynamics analysis software of elastohydrodynamic lubrication dynamic simulation on the methanol engine crankshaft-connecting rod bearings,got the orbital path diagram,compared the prototype and the new crankshaft-connecting rod bearings on the maximum oil film pressure,the maximum asperity contact pressure,friction power loss ratio and the temperature rise in the simulation results.The single fatigue,the friction wear and the engine durability test with methanol fuel were finished,verified the adaptability of the new crankshaft-connecting rod bearings,eventually developed crankshaft-connecting rod bearings of car methanol engine.
