In recent years,with the rapid development of road engineering in our country,the concept of energy saving and environmental protection and green building materials are gradually popular.As the two most commonly used lightweight embankment filling materials,foamed concrete and EPS have been applied in engineering practice.But at present,the mechanical properties of foamed concrete and EPS have not been systematically studied.it shows a great significance to master the mechanical properties of foamed concrete and EPS in road engineering.Therefore,the mechanical properties of foamed concrete and EPS are studied in this paper.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The stress-strain curves of foamed concrete and EPS under uniaxial compression are studied.The relationships between compressive strength,yield strain and elastic modulus of foamed concrete with curing ages are studied.(2)The relationship expression of compressive strength,yield strain and elastic modulus of foamed concrete between porosity,solid volume ratio were established.The relationship expression of compressive strength between elastic modulus,compressive strength between yield strain,elastic modulus between yield strain are established.(3)The water absorption characteristics of foamed concrete is studied.The mechanical properties of foamed concrete under saturated and natural curing conditions are compared,the effect of saturation state on the mechanical characteristic parameter of foamed concrete was analyzed.The failure mode of foamed concrete under uniaxial compression is analyzed,and the failure rule of foamed concrete is obtained.(4)The mechanical properties of EPS with different size under different loading rate are studied,and the relationship expression of stress corresponding to different strain,elastic modulus between sample length,loading rate are established.The effect of different connection on the stress and elastic modulus of EPS are studied,the best connection method for EPS is put forward.The effects of different crack combinations on the stress and elastic modulus of EPS are studied,and the fracture combination method which have the most influence on the mechanical properties of EPS block is proposed.The effect of different bamboo length and insertion position on the stress and elastic modulus of EPS are studied,and the optimal effect of bamboo insert length and position on the properties of EPS.is put forward.
