Stirling engine has good running characteristics,reliable operation,low noise,high thermal efficiency,low exhaust pollutiondue to its unique structural characteristics,and it is suitable for various fuels.Therefore,the Stirling engine is widely used in the military and civilian fields.But in the actual operation of the Stirling engine,problems have occurred such as difficulty in controlling the location of flame combustion,burnout of external combustion components,oil head corrosion,and carbon deposits,which have seriously affected the reliability and working life of the Stirling engine.The application of the Stirling engine is more and more extensive,and its working state has become various.Whether the spray of the Stirling engine can maintain the characteristics of the conventional vertical jet when the nozzle is tilted or rotated is a topic worth studying.So,it's of great practical and theoreticalsignificance to research the external combustion system of the Stirling engine in a comprehensive and in-depth study of the spray atomization behavior under high pressure and the influence of gravity on the spray shape.This subject is improved on the basis of the existing visual spray test bench.The characteristics of the Stirling engine pressure vortex nozzle spray are studied.The effects of nozzle parameters,combustion chamber pressure and gravity on the spray characteristics are explored.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)As the combustion chamber pressure increases,the spray droplet size of the Stirling engine gradually decreases.When the combustion chamber pressure exceeds 2 MPa,the influence of the pressure change on the spray particle size decreases.(2)As the combustion chamber pressure increases,the initial cone angle at the exit of the Stirling engine nozzle does not change,but the macroscopic shape of the spray gradually contracts;(3)Gravity causes a downward velocity of the droplets in motion,which promotes the contraction of the spray cone angle.
