Gansu Residential Architectural Art Features Of Hexi Corridor

Gansu Hexi Corridor is a multi-ethnic,cultural blend gathering place,is an important part of the Silk Road.The special natural environment conditions in Hexi Corridor have a great influence on the art and style of residential buildings.Hexi Corridor is located on the Silk Road,with a long history and culture,and its architecture has its unique regional characteristics.However,due to natural disasters and wars,few traditional houses have been preserved.Based on the field investigation,mapping,photography,analysis,and collection of relevant information,this paper combines the existing literature records,and summarizes the architectural art characteristics of the Hexi Corridor residential buildings.In this paper,the typical residential buildings in Wuwei,Zhangye,Dunhuang,Jiayuguan and Jiuquan areas of Hexi Corridor are selected and summarized respectively from the natural environment and the current situation of local residential buildings,focusing on the shape,structural characteristics,plastic arts and decorative arts of residential buildings in each area,and analyzing the architectural morphological and artistic characteristics from the aspects of material texture and color.Secondly,it summarizes the architectural art characteristics of Hexi Corridor as a whole.The research on the artistic characteristics of the residential buildings in Hexi Corridor is very rare.The residential buildings in this area are still of great significance today.Therefore,we should start to study the artistic characteristics of the local residential buildings so as to provide reference for the future study of the artistic characteristics of the local residential buildings.In the aspect of design,the artistic features of Hexi area are introduced into the design of residential quarters to seek a new direction of local design and create regional buildings with distinctive features.
