With the rapid development of the automobile industry in recent years,the automobile has become an indispensable means of transportation in the modern society of China and even the world.As an essential component of a car,automotive hub bearings play a dual role of load bearing and accurate guidance.The failure of the hub bearing seal ring will cause the outside mud and dust to enter the bearing interior,which significantly shorten the service life of the hub bearing.Therefore,it is necessary to study the seal performance of the hub bearing seal ring.Main work is as follows:To analyze the material nonlinearity,geometric nonlinearity and contact nonlinearity of rubber materials for wheel hub seals.According to the nonlinear finite element analysis theory and the finite element theory of the contact problem,establishes a two-dimensional axisymmetric finite element analysis model of the hub bearing seal ring,give the contact type,boundary conditions and loading methods of it.To discuss the determination criteria of the seal performance of hub bearing seals,use Ansys Workbench to analyze the Von Mises stress of the hub bearing seal ring under different initial interference,different friction coefficient and different rotation speed conditions,and the contact stress of the contact surface between the rubber seal lip and the flange.The analysis results show that both the maximum Von Mises stress and the maximum contact stress increase with the increase of the initial interference and the friction coefficient,while there is almost no change with the increase of the flange speed.And predict the possible abrasion boundary and wear area of the hub bearing seals.To discuss the empirical formula of the removal material thickness during the wear process of wheel hub seals,carry out the finite element simulation analysis of the wear process of the hub bearing seal ring and derive he variation rule of the maximum contact stress with the wear time in the wear process of the rubber seal lip of the hub bearing seal ring.The maximum contact stress of each rubber seal lip of the hub bearing seal ring decreases with the increase of the wear time,and finally tends to a stable wear state.No matter how the external working conditions change,the maximum contact stress of the contact surface between the rubber bearing lip of the hub bearing seal and the flange is always greater than the ambient pressure,which means the hub bearing seal ring can maintain a good sealing performance during the wear processFinally,use the VR-3000 series Keyence 3D profile measuring instrument to measure the unworn hub bearing seal ring and the worn wheel bearing seal ring,respectively,and obtain the rough wear area of the hub bearing seal ring.The wear area of the hub bearing seal ring obtained by finite element simulation analysis is basically consistent with the experimental measurement result,which shows that the finite element prediction method for the possible wear boundary and wear area of the hub bearing seal ring is feasible.
