Gas turbine is an advanced and complex power machinery as well as a typical high-tech intensive product.Researchers have focused on structure design and optimization of Gas Turbine's key components for quite a long time.At present,the process is that engineers design parametric CAD model first and adopt CAE softwares to conduct simulation and export analysis report.Then the CAD model is redesigned by changing some value of optimal variables due to the analysis report and reanalyzed iterate until the result fits all conditions.The current process has three problems.Firstly,there is no unified modeling process and modeling specification for serialized components,which makes 3D model and design knowledge difficult to be reused.It not only reduces design efficiency but also increases the amount of stored data.Secondly,in the process of CAE analysis,some detail features oriented to manufacturing have no practical effect,but their existence will increase the time and calculation in the meshing and simulation process,even leading to simulation failure.Finally,in the process of design,analysis and optimization,designers need to import and export the files and design related parameters manually,which leads to the loss of information and time-consuming operation.Under the background,and intelligent master model(IMM)and a rapid design and simulation integrated platform of CAD/CAE are proposed to solve problems above.Based on the NX / UG platform,the IMM is designed using multi-sketch-based unified modeling method by analyzing the commonness of key components of gas turbine and gaining design knowledge from engineers.The IMM is considered as the core model of the rapid design and simulation process.What's more,defining the attribute in the IMM is used to locate the features needed to be simplified.A CAE-based model simplification algorithm is proposed to reduce the finite element analysis time and improve the analysis efficiency.At the same time,to facilitate engineers to maintain and update different master models from different parts,the paper proposed a dynamic self-adaptive interface as well as rapid design and simulation guide interface based on NXOpen and MenuScript.The development of intelligent master model in this paper realizes the reuse of design knowledge and improves design efficiency.Through mapping rules and different simplified criteria,engineers can get different LOD of analysis model.Examples show that it can effectively improve the efficiency of gas turbine design and shorten the product development cycle based on the rapid design and simulation integration platform and visual interface.
