As the key node of the smart grid,the development of smart substation has already got into the comprehensive stage.The smart substation consists of integrated equipment,which is advanced and reliable.Based on the high-speed network,the smart substation can collect information,measure and monitor the current or voltage,control and protect the power equipment.It can support the advanced application functions such as realtime automatic and intelligent control,online analysis and decision making and so on.220 kV smart substation is different from the conventional on secondary system.The traditional sampling method,data transmission and communication protocols can't satisfy with the large amount of information exchange and upload.Digital information has brought forward new requirement on the design of secondary system.It's important to research the network system,configuration and integration of relay and the application of new technology on the secondary system in smart substation.The key contents of this article are as follows:1)The first part is the research on automation system and network structure of 220 kV smart substation,according to Tuanjie substation in Shanghai.It concludes sampling and trip modes of relay in smart substation,and compares the direct mining point-to-point with net in sampling and control.This part also shows the developing trend of sampling and network of 220 kV smart substation.2)The second part analyses the integration scheme of the secondary devices in 220 kV smart substation,and combinations of relay and control device.3)The third part shows the advantages of the new technology in the field of engineering application,such as local protection,modular design,integrated monitoring,prefabricated optical cable and intelligent accessorial system.4)The paper mainly studies on the configuration scheme of secondary system including relay and control devices in Shanghai 220 kV smart substation,and the influence on design,construction and operation.According to the design of 220 kV Tuanjie,Mindong substation project in Shanghai,the paper puts forward a engineering design scheme,which is suitable for the project in Shanghai.The research result plays a guiding role in the design of 220 kV smart substation at the present stage.
