With the popularization of the car, safety and comfort of cars are becoming more and more important. The defrosting performance of the car which affects the driving safety and noise performance of the car which affects the ride comfort are hot topics in now days.In this paper,a micro passenger car is the research object, through the result of numerical simulation, analyzed the defrosting performance and noise performance, and then optimized the defrosting duct structure of defrosting system.Ultimately,it could be meet the design standard.Firstly, established the vehicle model with CATIA software, then implemented the steady-state and transient simulation calculation with Fluent software. We got the results of the air velocity distribution, temperature distribution and the frost layer thickness change on the front windshield which reflect the defrosting performance, and the result of defrosting duct noise sound pressure distribution which reflect the noise performance.Through analyzed the above results,it shows that the defrosting performance of this passenger car need to improve while the noise effect is good.In this paper, the inlet air velocity and the structure of the defrosting duct are the only considered factors when improve the defrosting performance and noise performance, other factors such as the inlet air temperature, the grating and the jet angle are not considered.Through the steady state simulation, compared with the results of the air velocity distribution on the front windshield and the result of defrosting duct noise sound pressure distribution under different initial inlet velocities,to choose the suitable defrosting duct inlet velocity. To the unqualified defrosting performance problem, modified the defrosting duct based on the common structure factors which affect the passenger car defrosting performance and noise performance. Finally the results can meet the defrosting performance and noise performance requirements.
