The Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) method is used on the performance analysis of automotive windshield defrosting.Airflow and de-ice model are established for the automotive defrosting duct, interior and windshield. Steady and transient analysis are used to study the deicing process.Two different structures of duct are compared. Based on airflow inside the cabin, an improved duct structure is chosen.The environmental simulation test is carried on. The computational model is verified from the experimental data.
