The stability of ship under the condition of cross wind and wave has always been the focus of ship designers and manipulators.In recent years,led by the International Maritime Organization(IMO),scholars from various countries based on hydrodynamic theory with all kinds of ship stability accidents conducted in-depth research,so that the frame of second generation intact stability vulnerability criteria has been confirmed.The failure modes of dead ship stability and excessive acceleration are mainly influenced by cross wind and wave,which will bring new constraints to the design and manipulation of ships.Based on the vulnerability criterion draft of dead ship stability and excessive acceleration,the paper has studied the theoretical calculation method,and carried out a large number of sample ship calculations in the meantime.Combining with the calculation results,some suggestions are put forward to improve the evaluation method,the consistency of the first and second dead ship stability vulnerability criteria has been analyzed as well.The security regions of GM from different kinds of ships have be calculated due to the first and second level vulnerability assessment method.The relationship between excessive acceleration and ship design parameters is quantitatively calculated.The main work contents are as follows:(1)The calculation principle and method of dead ship stability and excessive acceleration are studied and clarified.(2)A large number of sample ship calculations are carried out,and the problems existing in the vulnerability assessment method are pointed out based on the intermediate and final results,some specific suggestions for improvement are put forward.(3)Based on the two vulnerability failure mode of dead ship stability and excessive acceleration,the security region of GM from five different kinds of ships have been calculated,which provides reference for ship design and operation restriction.(4)Using the software of CAESES to transform the ship's smoothness and get a series of ship types,combined with the calculation results,the sensitivity of excessive acceleration is analyzed with the relationship between the design parameters of the ship.
