Molten salt has been widely used in the preparation of chemical products and solar power generation,at the same time,the molten salt is different from the water and oil,the viscosity of the molten salt is large and the temperature is high,so it is necessary to study the molten salt pump because of the high requirement of the equipment for transporting the molten salt.At present,there are few reference for the design of wear ring clearance,therefore,a molten salt pump is taken as the research object,the characteristics and internal flow distribution of the pump with different radial cle arance and axial length wear ring clearance are calculated by ANSYS FLUENT,the force and total deformation of the molten salt pump rotor component are analyzed by ANS YS Workbench.The effects of radial clearance and axial length of the molten salt pump's wear ring clearance on the performance of the molten salt pump,as well as the effect on force and total deformation of the rotor parts are analyzed.Firstly,the molten salt pump is designed according to the design parameters.Under different flow rate the designed model is simulate the in water and molten salt,it is found that the efficiency and head in molten salt are lower than those in water,but the power is much higher than that in water.At the same time,the performance of the molten salt pump at different temperatures are also analyzed.The results show that with the increase of temperature,the power of the molten salt pump decreases and the efficiency of t he molten salt pump increases.Secondly,the external characteristics and internal flow field of molten salt pump with different wear ring radial clearance and axial length are analyzed.The results show that with the increase of wear ring radial clearance,the head of molten salt pump decreases,the power increases and the efficiency decreases.With the increase of the axial length of the wear ring clearance,the head of the molten salt pump increases obviously,the power decreases greatly and the efficiency of the molten salt pump increases slightly.The internal flow field varies with the change of wear ring clearance.With the increase of wear ring radial clearance,the pressure gradient in the front cavity of the pump increases,but the velocity gradient decreases,the position of the vortex moves toward the outlet of the impeller and the scale of the vortex begins to increase.With the increase of the axial length of the wear ring clearance,the pressure gradient in the front cavity of the molten salt pump increases.Finally,on the basis of the Fluent analysis,the force and total deformation of the molten salt pump rotor under the fluid-structure interaction are analyzed by using ANSYS Workbench.It is found that the force and total deformation of rotor in molten salt are much greater than those in water.With the increase of radial clearance of the wear ring clearance,the maximum equivalent stress of the impeller and the shaft increases first and then decreases,the maximum total deformation variable also shows the trend of first increasing and then decreasing,the peak value of the maximum total deformation appears at the radial clearance of 0.35 mm,the equivalent stress of the impeller and the blades increase.With the increase of the axial length of the wear ring clearance,the maximum equivalent stress of the impeller and the shaft increases,the maximum total deformation of the rotor increases first and then decreases,the peak value of the maximum total deformation appears at the axial length of 2 0mm,but the stress on the shroud of the impeller decreases with the increase of the axial length of the wear ring clearance.Although the radial clearance and axial length of the wear ring clearance have an effect on the maximum total deformation of the rotor,there is no regular change in the total deformation of the rotor under the change of the wear ring clearance.In this paper,the influence of the structure of wear ring clearance on the characteristics,internal flow field,force and total deformation on the rotor of molten salt pump is studied,which provides a reference for the wear ring clearance design of molten salt pump and the pump with similar structure in the future.
