With the development of road traffic industry,the road traffic base has increased year by year,and a large number of early diseases have appeared in the existing asphalt pavement due to the poor performance of the materials used and the untimely maintenance.In recent years,it is a common repairing method to improve the performance of asphalt mixture by adding fibers.Basalt fibers improve the properties of asphalt in micro-scale and greatly improve the overall mechanical properties of asphalt concrete in macro-scale.This paper studies the effect of adding basalt fibers on improving the adhesion and pavement performance of asphalt,and develops the mix design of basalt fibers asphalt mixture to give full play to the advantages of basalt asphalt materials.By comparing the mechanical properties,thermal stability,moisture absorption and oil absorption of basalt fibers,polyester fibers and lignin fibers,it is concluded that the moisture absorption of basalt fibers is the smallest,and the mechanical properties and thermal stability of basalt fibers are superior to those of polyester fibers and lignin fibers.In order to analyze the properties of fiber asphalt mortar,three indexes of asphalt,bending beam rheological test and dynamic shear test were carried out with three kinds of fibers with different content.The results show that the high temperature performance of asphalt mortar is obviously improved and the low temperature performance is reduced by adding fibers,and the performance of basalt fibers is obviously better than that of polyester fibers and lignin fibers.The gradation design of basalt fiber asphalt mixture was carried out by Marshall test,and the optimum asphalt ratio and asphalt content under different dosage were determined.The relationship between basalt fiber content and each index of Marshall test was obtained.Through rutting test,trabecular bending test,immersion Marshall test and freeze-thaw splitting test of asphalt mixture with different basalt fiber content,the high temperature performance,low temperature performance and water stability were studied.The popularization and application of basalt fiber can effectively improve the high temperature stability,low temperature crack resistance and water stability of asphalt mixture,reduce the cost of road construction and obtain better economic benefits.
