The research of this subject is a steering gear production line of the automobile worm gear in the 2nd workshop of a company in Shanghai.With the rack of car in the market demand continuing to increase,however,the shortcomings that “old model” stations' bad improvement emerged.The object of the subject is one of the rack assembly line.So this article regards the Works2 GX and FX-3U programmable logic controller as the core to the finished rack line which is the trend of the times.The article introduces the traditional relay assembly line which is before reformed in steering rack workshop,and summarize the existing problems that their way and why can't meet the production in this stage,besides,put forward the technical and functional requirements to the transformation of the assembly line.On this basis,the overall scheme design of the new production line is carried out.Using programmable logic controller(PLC)to carry on the reconstruction design to the production field equipment and perform a reasonable arrangement makes multi working procedure production become the automatic production mode.This paper introduce the composition of the control system,programming language,such as the transformation of the use of the MITSUBISHI PLC(3U-FX),programming software Works2 GX and touch screen software EB500,etc..In the system that has carried out the demand analysis and the overall planning and design,followed by the GX Works2 programming software of each module of the specific design and programming,including: hardware configuration,straightening machine module,brush teeth machine module,abrasive belt polishing machine module,cleaning machine module,the screen of operation,which straightening machine module comprises an upper feeding mechanism,feeding mechanism and feeding mechanism design and programming.In the end,connecting eachmodule of the system of physical layer and debugging address assignment and system,each module can complete function of automatic processing.By relying on mechanical design reasonable connection of each module,the transformation of steering rack assembly line accomplished.
