Electric impact wrench is high-efficiency tool for bolt tightening.It is light and small size,and it works conveniently,quickly,safely and reliably,so it becomes the special tool which is indispensable and irreplaceable in different working areas.With the popularity of the tool,people are more and more dependent on it.Meanwhile many shortcomings and defects are exposed,such as output power of tool is not enough,efficiency to remove and tighten bolts is very low,and the tool is easy to damage after using a period of time,etc.Many manufacturers are trying to designing and producing tools with high performance to deal with these problems,so as to grab more market share.But according to the survey,we find that most manufacturers still use the traditional design method.By this method,they will take previous models for reference,and they will produce the prototype repeatly.It will cost lots of time and money with the resut that performance of tool still can not meet expected requirement.Impact mechanism is the key component of impact wrench,which is also the important factor that affects wrench's performance.This paper mainly studies on impact mechanism,which is based on virtual prototype technology,using theory of kinematics and dynamics calculation,combined with simulation analysis and experimental research method,to optimize wrench's structure and improve it's performance.The paper's main content is as below :First theoretical model of impact mechanism was created.Dynamic equation was created and solved by the method of mechanical kinematics and dynamics research.Through mathematical method,the rule of kinematics and dynamics of impact mechanism was concluded,and the preliminary scheme for optimizing the performance of the tool wad achieved.Then 3D modeling of mechanism was designed and imported to simulation platform for dynamical simulation.The simulation results verified the correctness of theoretical analysis.In addition,in view of wrench's faults that it is damaged easily,finite element analysis software was used to do failure analysis on the key part to get the way to improve tool's life.At last,orthogonal test was designed to have a scientific analysis to the experimental data,and to find and verify the optimization scheme.
