| Guyang Lake is located at the edge of the built-up area of the city,which is the most important landscape resource in the southern part of Zhenjiang and whose development has attracted much attention.Entrusted by the local government,the author of this paper has the privilege of participating in the planning and design project of Guyang Lake area as a founder.In the early stage of the project,the team faced the challenge of how to determine the acceptable development goals of the area,the stress of developing surrounding residential area and the challenge of the loss of the original natural landscape characteristics of the area,and how to make the Guyang Lake area make full use of the advantages of resources so as to build a sustainable development future.In terms of the goal of planning,the rational support of development strategy is the key point of the planning research work.The author of this paper sorts out the basis of theory and practice of sustainable development of planning at home and abroad,focuses on the successful case study of sustainable development in Jinji lakeside area of Suzhou,which is generally recognized by the society,and explores the laws as well as methods which are suitable for the planning reference of Guyang Lake area of Zhenjiang.Based on relevant literature research and field investigation,through the analysis of Jinji Lake area at regional level,the analysis of the structure around the lake area and the study of environmental symbolic characteristics,this paper concludes the greater regional demand for the development goal of the lakeside area,the association of ecology and publicity along the lake area,the circle-line support of traffic activity circle of the overall benefit of the lakeside area,and the planning strategies as well as methods of the integration of natural environment and architectural features.On the basis of this,integrate them so as to form a holistic,public,composite and iconic planning principle which is suitable for the development of the Guyang Lake area.Combined with the planning of the Guyang Lake area and the development of environmental demands in the southern part of Zhenjiang,the strategies,principles and methods derived from the relevant research are applied to the planning of the actual projects.The author of this paper chooses Guyang Lake as the overall study of the southern part of the city and explores the suitability development plan from the following four aspects: environmental area,open space system,functional utilization and landscape characteristics of the lake area.The author also puts forward specific aspects of the strategies which are sustainable for the development of the Guyang Lake waterfront.The planning results have been recognized by the local relevant units,and the feasibility of the methods and strategies derived from the research has been reflected in the planning and development implementation in recent years.Therefore,it can be concluded that: 1 the functional orientation of sustainable development of urban waterfront areas should be planned from larger outside area and scope;2.the public function of open space is an important feature of the sustainable development of urban waterfront;3.the development vitality of urban waterfront largely lies in the functional complex of land use in its adjacent areas and 4.it is of great value to focus on the methods and the development characteristics of the city and the region. |
