Study On The Technology Process Of Lead Acid Battery Container Formation For Electric Bicycle

Abstract/Summary:
Charging technology of container formation in lead acid batteries for the application of e-bike was studied in the paper.The optimized technology and parameters help to reduce charging capacity,shorten production cycles and improve battery cycle life under 100%DOD,which contribute to high quality and low cost of battery manufacturing.Semi-product of batteries without initially adding acid and formation were used in the experiment.The paper systematically discussed each process of charging process of container formation including pickling,corrosion layer formation,active mass formation,depolarized steps after formation.Physical and chemical analysis(content of active mass,amount of acid in separators,X-ray diffraction,scanning electro-microscopy,concentration of Pb2+in electrolyte)and electrochemical properties(room temperature capacity,low temperature capacity,charging acceptance and cycle life)of the above processes and products were also studied.The experiment shows rational and effective adjusting of technology parameters of each process in battery container formation achieve better results,such as decline of formation charge quantity and time,improvement of plates appearance and battery cycle life.Take 6-DZM-12 battery(Chillwee)as consideration,every battery can reduce 17Ah charge quantity,and formation time needs only 15h after adopting such formation technology.what is more the battery cycle life can reach more than 350 times.The innovation of this paper is the utilization of depolarized technology under deep discharge.Over the late period of charging,the concentration of Pb2+in separators will be reduced from 0.0864%to 0.0584%,therefore,the possibility of short circuit caused by lead dendrite is small.Besides,the method alter the thickness of corrosion layer between active mass and grid so as to elevate battery cycle life and initial capacity.
