As the main protection and backup of power transformer,the transformer protection device has been widely used in power system.But at present,they have only passed the simple test of relay protection tester before connecting to power grid,and lack of debugging of connect to analog power grid.Therefore,it is unable to ensure that the device performance meets actual requirements.This article studies the process of using real-time digital simulation(RTDS)to accurately simulate the fault process in power system,establishes the analog power grid and designs a test system for the transformer protection device in an analog power grid failure situation which has great significance for testing the transformer protection device.This article first focuses on the typical power grid structure,simulates the power system from the power generation,transmission,distribution and power consumption,and sets up an electric power simulation system designed for carrying out experiments on transformer protection devices.Secondly,point at the function of the transformer protection device,the RTDS platform was used to set up inrush current and line fault simulation,build fault control module,excitation inrush module,and circuit breaker control module.Then,aimed at the signal transmission between the transformer protection device and the simulation system,the real-time analog signal and digital signal transmission channel were designed to build a closed-loop simulation experiment platform.Finally,according to the industry standards and product functions,test experiments were designed to simulate common grid fault conditions and analyze the test results of transformer protection devices.The test results show that the test scheme is feasible.Through the analysis of the test results,it is possible to record the behavior of the transformer protection device under different working conditions and determine whether the transformer protection device meets the requirements specified in the corresponding standards.Through the simulation test experiment of the transformer protection device in this paper,the safety and stability of the transformer operation is ensured,and the possibility of large property damage to the power grid caused by the failure of power transformer is largely avoided.
