PC Real Time Simulation Based Closed Loop Testing For Protection Equipments

PC based digital real-time simulators are attracting more and more attention because they are digital, cheap, easy to upgrade and have tremendous potential. Therefore, we developed a PC real time simulation based closed-loop testing equipment for protection equipments.1. This dissertation proposes the data pre-storage method which makes the time step selection much more flexible. With this method, smaller time steps can be applied to accomplish real time testing.2. Two processors are used in this system and the PCI communication card based DSP is developed. The parallel processing of the two processors dramatically improves the performance of both the calculation and the communication.3. Many closed-loop testings for protecton equipments are done in the dispatch center of northeast power grid with the equipment developed by this dissertation. At the same time, we have done contrastive simulation experiments between this system and RTDS.4. This dissertation developes the intergrative portable testing equipment, which can be carried for field testing and expends the using scope of this equipment.
