With the rapid development of marine engineering and the increasing frequency of deep-sea exploration activities,saturation diving technology has been widely used in the rescue of wrecked submarine,submarine construction,underwater resources exploration and other fields.In order to improve the safety of saturation divers,selfpropelled hyperbaric lifeboats(SPHLs),as the main hyperbaric evacuation unit in saturation diving systems.,is gradually replacing the traditional hyperbaric escape capsule.Because there is no mature domestic product,this paper intends to design and develop a self-propelled hyperbaric lifeboats.The research mainly focuses on the floating,stability,rapidity and seakeeping characteristics of the SPHL on the basis of preliminary design.It is hoped that this study will be helpful to the design and research of the SPHL in China.This paper firstly introduces the development history and current situation of saturation diving system and SPHL,and summarizes the relevant laws and regulations related to the design and performance of the SPHL.Based on this,the main dimensions,general layout,hull shape and center of gravity of the SPHL are preliminarily determined,and the interior layout is introduced in detail.After the design part,the three-dimensional model of the hull has been established,and the hydrostatic performance,buoyancy and stability of the SPHL are calculated and analyzed.In order to get better resistance performance,the ship hull is optimized with the wave-making resistance as the objective function.The wave-making resistance of ship shape after optimization is smaller than the original model.Then,the resistance performance of the SPHL is calculated and analyzed by using the CFD software.The resistance characteristics and the actual ship power of the SPHL at different speeds are obtained.It is verified that the existing power and propulsion configuration can meet the requirements of the rapidity.Finally,the hydrodynamic performance of SPHL in static and sailing condition was calculated based on the theory of three-dimensional potential flow theory.Then,the paper calculated the hydrodynamic coefficients,RAO of hull motions and wave load on the hull under different conditions,and studied the relationship between wave characteristics and RAOs of hull motions.Based on the calculation results,the motion and force of ship under different speed is analyzed,and it's confiemed the SPHL can meet the seakeeping performance requirements.
