Wave glider is a new unmanned surface vehicle used for ocean detecting,resource exploration,intelligence collection and many other civil or military use.It has an advantage in long-period,wide-range tasks,since its autonomous voyage doesn't rely on traditional power and needs no maintenance.This paper mainly introduces the design of the key components of wave glider based on hydrodynamic optimization.As for the design of surface boat,firstly,build the original lines by CAESES's parametric modeling function.The parameters are chosen according to relevant experience.Secondly,with the combination use of Sobol optimization algorithm and SHIPFLOW's stack model computation,the line which has the minimum total resistance has been chosen from hundreds of plans.Finally,the optimization result is confirmed through STAR-CCM+.The design for the hydrofoil takes its shape,spacing and rotating angle into consideration.Through the two-dimensional analysis of rotating angle and inflow angle of attack,the impact of which on the hydrofoils' thrust is considered.And by figuring out the actual thrust of hydrofoils under different conditions using the STAR-CCM+ three-dimensional numerical simulation,the best parameters for the hydrodynamic performance of hydrofoils are verified.Meanwhile,the analysis on the best position of the center of gravity and the point where the line is connected is done in various instability conditions,to make sure that the surface boat has the possibility to survive on heavy seas.A simplified computation on its course is conducted in order to judge whether it's stable or not.Finally,with the hydrodynamic data of surface boat and hydrofoils as the input,run the joint motion simulation of the whole system in different sea conditions.This process is done through the prediction program of flexible-rope-linked multi-body motion.On the whole,the hydrodynamic performance of surface boat and hydrofoils is good,besides,the simulated speed meets the request for application.
