To understand the change of marine environment,people established stationary marine observation facilities in marine,such as submersible buoy,moored buoy,as the measurement of wave height,water temperature,currents,and other meteorological and hydrological factors.These facilities could only work in a fixed point,but unable to complete the mobile observation,like typhoon and monsoon region tracking,marine biological migration tracking.As a new concept of marine aircraft,wave glider provides a new solution for these problems.Driven by the power from wave,it has advantages of high efficiency,long endurance,which make the wave glider a very broad prospect.A comprehensive study consists of movement mechanism;the law of motion;hydrodynamic performance aspects was conduct on the wave glider.based on the RANS equation and SST k-?turbulence model,a redevelopment CFD software FLUENT was used to make the hydrodynamic performance analysis of a two-dimensional tandem hydrofoil.For more excellent propulsion performance,a comparison was made between NACA0012 and plate airfoils with different thickness,the influence of the number of foil,distance,maximum rotation angle made on the tandem hydrofoil performance;and focuses on the thrust coefficient and rotational law under the different conditions of a 6 tandem hydrofoil.Secondly,based on a analysis of process and force,the calculation method combined with AQWA and FLUENT was worked out,the thrust performance in various conditions was assessed quantitatively by it.Finally,based on the previous theoretical calculation and other aspects of research results,the prototype was successfully completed,prototype tank test was conducted,the feasibility of pure wave propulsion was verified through the experiment,the wave glider's propulsion performance under different wave conditions was verified,and foundation the further research of prototype was laid.
