Research On The Application Method Of Architectural Elements In Modern Residence Design In Southwest Henan

Since China joined in the WTO in 2001,China’s economic has grown rapidly.People begin to pursue the spiritual aspects because their material aspects have been greatly enriched.With the development of the tourism,the homestay industry emerges.As the “new lover” of the tourism market,homestay is growing into the next focus of the tourism economy.Small homestay is going to overwhelm the large tourism market,and many people will travel for “go to a city,just for the room.” Homestay as a new type of non-standard accommodation,people have a higher demand for it.The single accommodation function has no longer met people’s desire for relaxation.The definition of homestay in the new age are as follows.Homestay has the unique attraction in tourism accommodation and reception facilities,which emphasis the local culture and thematic feature.In this way,tourists are able to deeply savor the local folk culture,closely related to the local people,harvesting the different life experience.Homestay as a place to relax pressure and go back to peaceful mind,people tend to enjoy its spiritual and cultural experience.Applying the traditional architectural elements into the homestay design can not only satisfy people’s requirement for experiencing folk culture,but also benefit the spread and development of traditional architectural culture.The main aim of this thesis is to extract values used in the contemporary design from traditional architecture.The author believes that we should stick to the attitude of development to protect our traditional history and culture.We also should explore the culture given by our ancestors and apply it to the contemporary design so as to protect our traditional culture.The best protection of the traditional culture is not to exhibit them in the museum.It is “absorb the essence and discard the dross.” We needto meet contemporary people’s demand,following the trend.The contents of this thesis are made up of seven chapters.Chapter one summarizes the reasons for this topic,the purpose and research methods,and analyzes current researches at home and abroad.By analyzing the above information,the content of this thesis and the research questions are determined.Chapter two illustrates the definition,relative concepts,development status and some current problems of the homestay.Chapter three analyzes the historical origin and development significance of architectural elements in southwest Henan province,together with its form and cultural implication in order to explore its modern fashionable beauty in contemporary design.Chapter four puts forward the contemporary homestay design’s application methods of the architectural elements in southwest Henan province.In terms of the analysis of the above chapters,this chapter practically and realistically analyzes its application value,forms and methods so as to form the theoretical guidance for modern homestay design.Chapter five displays the domestic famous homestay pattern,focusing on how to apply traditional elements to design,which lays the practical guidance on this thesis’ s theory.Chapter six combines the theory with practice.Based on the concepts and suggestions already analyzed in this thesis,this chapter takes the example of certain homestay design in southwest Henan province to introduce the project overview and local architectural culture.Chapter six also illustrates the problems in the design process as well as how to solve them.The theory which is proposed in the above chapter is applied into the realistic design,and this theory is to be tested.This thesis aims to make up for the gap of the connection between the architectural culture and homestay design in southwest Henan and to achieve the unity of spreading traditional culture and economic development.Chapter seven summarizes this thesis and expounds the prospect of the future design trend.
