Survey And Evaluation On The Soundscape Of Attractions In Quanzhou

As special urban public open spaces,tourist attractions,which are the core elements of tourism,the brick and mortar business model of tourism development,the pillar-supporting industries in many cities and areas,play an important role in economic development in China.The environmental quality is the foundation for the development in tourist attractions,and a good overall environmental quality is essential to enhance the attractiveness of tourist attractions and promote the development of tourism.Furthermore,the soundscape quality is a vital factor affecting overall environmental quality.Nowadays,the method of noise reduction alone is not enough to meet the needs of tourists in attractions,which are rich in cultural heritages and connotations.Therefore,scholars and administrators increasingly pay attention to improvement of users' subjective acoustic perception experience and planning of soundscape in tourist attractions.In this paper,based on the soundwalk survey method and the tourist questionnaire method,the current situation of the soundscape and the demands of tourists in attractions are investigated,and then the quality of soundscape is evaluated through objective measurement and subjective questionnaires.Finally,according to the characteristics of soundscape in each attraction,the optimum design strategies and suggestions are put forward.The study results verify effectiveness of soundwalk and tourist questionnaire method in evaluation of soundscape in attractions,and suggest that the combination of two methods can improve the accuracy of the evaluation results.The results reveal that:(1)Continued efforts are still needed to reduce noise and further improve quality of soundscape in each attraction.(2)Reducing subjective loudness can significantly improve the quality of soundscape,and it shows that soundscape planning,which can lower users' subjective loudness,are crucial to improvement of soundscape in tourist attractions.(3)Even in the same area,the soundscape characteristics and the requirements for improving the soundscape are different in different types of tourist attractions.In the process of designing or reforming tourist attractions,reasonable design and planning should be carried out according to the type and characteristics of attraction in order to effectively improve the quality of soundscape.
