Because the horizontal ash joint of adobe masonry is a weak link,Under the action of seismic force or vertical load,the horizontal ash joint is the most vulnerable part.In order to improve the compressive and tensile strength of adobe masonry and the poor connection performance of vertical and horizontal walls leads to cracking and bulging.In this paper,the mix ratio of soil materials and reinforcement structure are considered comprehensively.Through modified Adobe was made by mixing the best wheat straw content.The basic mechanical properties of modified adobe masonry are studied and horizontal wire mesh is deployed in different grey joint layers of Adobe masonry.The axial and eccentric compressive properties of steel wire mesh masonry with horizontal grey joint are tested and analyzed by finite element method.Its compressive strength,bearing capacity,deformation capacity and failure characteristics are analyzed.The research results can provide some reference for the reinforcement and numerical analysis of Adobe masonry.Through the above research,numerical simulation and theoretical analysis,the results show that:(1)The compressive strength of adobe masonry is improved to some extent when the adobe block and mud are modified at the same time according to the optimum mix ratio.(2)Laying steel wire mesh with a certain reinforcement ratio in the horizontal gray joints of adobe masonry can obviously improve the compressive strength,deformation capacity and the failure characteristics of cracking in the middle of the adobe masonry.When the adobe masonry is subjected to small eccentric compression,the steel wire mesh is arranged in the horizontal ash joint to improve the failure characteristics of the adobe masonry with insufficient bearing capacity and bulging.The reinforcement ratio has a great influence on the bearing capacity of Adobe masonry.When the diameter of steel wire mesh is 1 mm~2 mm and the reinforcement ratio is controlled within 0.01%~0.2%,the reinforcement effect is quite good.(3)Through analysis,the formula for calculating the compressive strength of adobe masonry reinforced with steel wire mesh is obtained and according to the failure criterion of brick under tension and compression,a simplified formula suitable for calculating the compressive strength of adobe masonry strengthened by steel grids is obtained.(4)When the separated modeling and numerical simulation of adobe masonry are carried out,the damage evolution of adobe masonry can be well simulated by using CDP model and plastic constitutive model respectively. |
