Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,the development and construction of islands and reefs in the South China Sea has been emphasized.However,as large ships can’t reach islands and reefs without ports,such type of ship which has well dock at its stern is designed to meet the need of facilitating the delivery of personnel and materials.It has become a feasible way to connect the island and supply ships.The small ships in ship with well dock can sail out directly when well dock is flooded.When the small ships move across the open gate,the interaction of wave may be particularly,such as the coupling effect of flow field in or out well dock and ship motions,and the resonance effect of the fluid in the well dock.In this process,it will cause wave interaction inside the well dock with higher nonlinear sloshing wave.Therefore,it is necessary to study the hydrodynamic performance of ships with well dock compartments in order to provide references for the analysis of similar problems.This paper reviews and summarizes the domestic and foreign research progress of hydrodynamic performance of ship with well dock.Based on the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics)method,this work established a numerical wave tank for ship performance and discusses the hydrodynamics of the ship with well dock.The work content is as follows:(1)First of all,we establish the three-dimensional high-precision numerical wave tank.Considering the influence of mesh quality and time step,the convergence analysis is carried out to determine the appropriate mesh and time step selection.The simulation results are compared with the theoretical values to verify the accuracy provided by our work,which lays foundations for the follow-up study.(2)The numerical simulation of wave diffraction problem of Wigley-Ⅲ and its improved ship model(ship with well dock)was carried out.The forces and moments of ship models restrained in wave with different velocity,incident wave angle and wavelength were calculated respectively.The calculated results of Wigley-Ⅲ are compared with the experimental and potential flow theory results.The trends of forces and moments of the improved ship with well dock were also discussed.(3)Based on the dynamic grid technique,the coupled solution of the heave and pitch motion and the flow field of different ship models at the heading wave and 45 degree incident wave were achieved.The numerical simulation results under the Wigley-Ⅲ at the heading wave are compared with the experimental data,and the motion trend of the ship with or without a small floating body in the well dock is discussed.(4)Finally,the motion of small floating bodies in well dock at different locations are simulated,and the motion and multi-body interaction of small boats(floating bodies)entering and moving out well dock are discussed.At the same time,the influence of ship motion acting on floating bodies in well dock cabins is discussed.
