With the rapid development of modern transportation industry,the performance requirements of asphalt pavement are getting higher and higher.The base asphalt used in the past has gradually failed to meet the requirements,so it is necessary to develop modified asphalt with better pavement performance.With the development of China’s chemical industry,plastics bring convenience to people,but also inevitably produce a large number of plastic waste.If the waste plastic is used as a modifier to prepare the modified asphalt,the waste plastic pollution can be solved,and the demand for road building materials can be solved.Although the LDPE modified asphalt behaves well at high temperature,it also has shortcomings of low temperature performance.Plasticizers can plasticize plastic products to increase their flexibility and impact resistance.In order to further improve the low temperature performance of LDPE modified asphalt and its mixture,expand the application range of LDPE modified asphalt,study the use of liquid plasticizer DOP to improve the performance of LDPE modified asphalt,and at the same time reduce the waste plastic pollution in China.By changing the dosage of DOP and LDPE modifiers,the effects of DOP on the performance of LDPE modified asphalt were studied by using three major asphalt tests,dynamic shear rheological test,rotational viscosity,elastic recovery,and RTFOT test.Five different modification schemes were selected to prepare modified asphalt mixture.Rutting test,low temperature trabecular bending test,immersion Marshall test and freeze-thaw splitting test were carried out for each scheme.The effect of DOP on the performance of LDPE modified asphalt mixture was analyzed according to the test results.The results show that LDPE can improve the high temperature performance,elastic recovery performance,and anti-aging properties of asphalt,while weakening the low temperature performance of asphalt;LDPE can improve the high temperature stability and water stability of asphalt mixture while weakening the low temperature crack resistance;DOP can improve the low temperature performance,elastic recovery performance and anti-aging performance of LDPE modified asphalt,but it will weaken high temperature performance;The addition of DOP can significantly improve the low temperature cracking resistance of LDPE modified asphalt mixture and improve the water stability of the mixture,but it will weaken the high temperature stability.
