The window is the "eyes" of a building,and it's a unique structural member in the architectural design.Windows' thermal insulating properties,wind load resistance performance,air permeability performance and water-tightness performance are connected with profiles'material properties,section design,assemble effect,etc.The material texture,color and surface appearance are playing very important roles in decoration;these properties not only make a building aesthetically pleasing but also contribute to the harmony of its interior design.In China,plastic steel window,aluminium alloy window,wooden window,glass steel window occupies most of the building window materials market.Though all of the different windows have their own advantages,but ecological footprint and high energy consumption are their common faults.As people pay more attention towards energy saving and environmental protection,developing a new window with reduced environmental impact becomes of greater importance.A window made out of wood plastic composite(WPC)material provides an excellent solution to this problem:As the window's main raw materials are poor quality wood,processing residues,and waste plastic,it can be recycled to largely reduce its environmental impact.Such a window has broad market prospects for the future.First,high-density polyethylene plastic content,extrusion processing temperature and lubricant content of the variable analysis WPC window profile,as well as extrusion performance by the rheological properties of the material,dynamic mechanical properties and thermal gravimetric analysis of wood flour,were found to determine a reasonable formula and extrusion process.Second,the profile performance test results were analyzed to obtain the change law for the profile properties of plastic,extrusion speed and cross-sectional shape of profiles.As the content of wood flour increases,flexural modulus of the material gradually increases,while tensile strength of the material remains substantially unchanged,increasing tensile modulus and slightly impacting the strength.In order to ensure that the straightness of the profile and its flatness deviation are within the capabilities of WPC window assembly requirements,the extrusion rate during extrusion should not exceed 250rpm.Third,wind load resistance performance,thermal insulation performance,air permeability performance and water-tightness performance of WPC windows were studied.By analyzing theoretical results of wind load resistance performance and thermal insulation performance,we found that the steel liner and window size affects wind load resistance performance,and glass system selection and cross-sectional shape design affect thermal insulation performance of the WPC windows.Increased profile wall thickness and steel-lined wall thickness can improve wind load resistance performance of WPC windows,while reducing the installation size of a window can improve its wind load resistance levels effectively.Increasing the width of casement and the number of internal cavities can improve thermal insulation performance for WPC windows.But the most effective method is to use a lower heat transfer coefficient glass(Low-E glass,or Sun-E glass)or multi-layer hollow glass.Finally,performance and cost were analyzed of assembling and installing the common external hinge,invisible hinge and casement-top-hung WPC windows,setting up installation and assembly specifications for WPC windows,and the characteristics of the three WPC windows:the common external hinge WPC windows are simple to assemble and low cost,but with lower intensity and an unaesthetic appearance;invisible hinge WPC windows have high strength,excellent air permeability performance and affordable prices,but their casement can only open at a small angle,and installation requires damage profiles;casement-top-hung WPC windows are multifunctional,have excellent performance and attractive appearance,but they are expensive,have complicated installation process and low installation efficiency.
