Since the invention of insulated gate bipolar transistor(IGBT)in the 1980 s,IGBT technology has developed rapidly.As the core device of power conversion,it covers the application of power electronics from dozens of watts to dozens of megawatts.At present,IGBT has been widely used in the field of consumer electrical appliances,industrial control,new energy generation,smart grid,locomotive traction and electric vehicle transportation,and has become the main switching device of converter devices.In addition,the excellent performance of IGBT enables it not only to replace the traditional fully controllable power semiconductor devices in existing systems,but also to open up more extensive and new applications.As a big country of energy production and consumption,IGBT is also widely used in power conversion to realize the generation,transmission and energy-efficient utilization of new energy sources.As one of the key technologies in the application of IGBT,IGBT driver is very important to the reliable operation of IGBT,which is directly related to the efficiency,reliability and safety of the system.It not only affects the dynamic performance of IGBT,but also affects the cost and reliability of the system.The reliability of converter system is determined by the choice of driver and the calculation of output power.Insufficient power or wrong selection of the drive can directly cause damage to the IGBT and drive.Although there are many special drives at home and abroad at present,there are some products it is not perfect enough,has limitations,some products have excellent performance,strong versatility,but the price is expensive,sometimes to the higher price of IGBT,Therefore,it is very important to design a IGBT driver with good performance and low price.In view of the above problems,in this paper,the basic structure,working principle and characteristics of IGBT are analyzed in detail,and the driving requirements,isolation methods,fault classification and protection circuits in IGBT driving circuit are also studied.And aiming at the problem of transmission delay of a common IGBT magnetic isolation drive circuit,a complete high-speed transmission IGBT driving circuit is designed,which comprises a signal input circuit,a pulse width modulation and demodulation circuit,a level conversion and power amplification circuit.In addition,after the analysis of common faults,it is designed to include the protection of over-voltage,short-circuit protection and under-voltage and over-temperature protection.The IGBT protection circuit and the internal isolated DC/DC power circuit including the main circuit and the oscillation circuit are designed.Finally,the Saber simulation software is used to simulate the whole driving circuit to verify its feasibility in full duty cycle,low frequency and high frequency,and the hardware experiment circuit is built to verify the scheme.The experiment proves that the output of the IGBT drive circuit is the same as the setting,and there is a small delay between the input and output,and it is verified that the drive circuit can be used in practice.The whole IGBT driver circuit has the advantages of low cost,high reliability,low driving power consumption and low input / output delay.It can make the IGBT work in a good state,and the protection circuit is designed according to the possible fault situation.The feasibility and effectiveness of the scheme are also verified.
