The transportation industry is a basic industry that promotes the development of the national economy.It plays a very important role in production and life.The accurate and efficient acquisition and renewal of road information is of great significance for accelerating the construction of transportation infrastructure.From the initial plan planning to the final construction drawing design,the precision level and scale of the survey results required at each stage are different.Therefore,how to acquire and utilize high-precision and multi-scale mass information efficiently is the goal of highway survey.Compared with other measurement methods,the Light Detection and Ranging technology(LiDAR)is a kind of technology that can acquire the earth spatial information with high spatial and temporal resolution continuously and automatically,and it is also applicable to the topographic features such as forest area and mountain area,which is of great help to the improvement of highway surveying efficiency.Based on the Guangxi Expressway Project,this paper describes the application of Light Detection and Ranging technology in road survey and design.The work done is as follows:(1)summarizing the development of airborne laser radar technology at home and abroad;introducing the composition,working principle,technical advantages and operation flow of LiDAR system;expounding the application of LiDAR technology in the survey and design of strip terrain in mountainous highways;describing data collection,data processing and digital product production of LiDAR technology in detail.(2)performing a series of processing of airborne LiDAR data using Leica's suite of equipment software and Terra Solid software modules,including IPAS software to process GPS and IMU data;This paper used the Terra Scan module in Terra Solid software to filter and classify the laser point cloud,reorganized the filtered laser point cloud in the Terra Modeler module,interpolated to generate DEM,made DOM in the Terra Photo module,drew1:2000 digital line drawings by using the DOM vectorization method,and completed the sectional drawings.(3)checking the accuracy of airborne LiDAR data products by using total station instrument and GPS-RTK measurement method.The results show that the precision of digital ground model meets the requirements of highway reconnaissance specification.This paper illustrates the feasibility of airborne LiDAR technology for highway reconnaissance design.(4)making use of point cloud data section and field using the total station,GPS RTK measurement section,in Autocad environment statistical analysis the distribution of error,error and terrain,and landscape,the relationship between the error and the surface covering,the effects of various factors on the accuracy of digital terrain model,the relevant mathematical precision analysis.Practical application showed that the Light Detection and Ranging technology not only can be measured by laser point cloud cover area topographic map,digital terrain model and the vertical and horizontal profile,worksite figure rich data such as product,combined with the feature image data at the same time,improve the ability of feature discriminant,in the field of road survey design has a broad prospect of application and technical advantages.
