People have been exploring an unmanned aerial vehicle that with higher flight performance,It is required that it has the capability of high speed cruise,high efficiency and long voyage,inherent to the Fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV),and also combines the advantages of vertical takeoff and landing capabilities,inherent to the helicopter and Multi rotor aircraft.It can not only reduce the requirements of the landing site but also maintain high flexibility to meet the needs of various operating sites and missions.The flight characteristics of two flight states that can be vertical,landing,hover and high speed cruise are different.The existing Aerocraft for vertical take-off and landing & high-speed cruising usually adopt a scheme of redundant engine/thrust components or a complex tilting machine scheme.That makes the reliability of the aircraft worse and lower work efficiency.And,the vertical flight performance of the aircraft is reduced,and the application of the aircraft is greatly limited.A new Vertical Take-Off and Landing(VTOL)vehicle is proposed in this paper.The VTOL using a double rotor wagging structure,As the lift components of vertical take-off and landing aircraft mode and the power components of Fixed wing mode.Simplifying the number of power devices of the aircraft,Avoid the introduction of complex pitch / tilt rotor structure,By controlling the speed of the two motor and the swaying rudder to realization the stable attitude control in vertical flight mode and Switching of two flight modes.The new VTOL looks like a double engine fixed wing aircraft,Its characteristic is that Using the swing rudder to control the propeller direction,Tail type vertical take-off and landing pattern,The attitude control of two flight states can be realized very reliably.Building its three-dimensional model through CATIA,The experimental prototype is built with the model material.Analysis the structural characteristics and aerodynamic characteristics of the prototype,and the dynamic characteristics of the new type of aircraft,Establishing its nonlinear mathematical model,And designed the controller of the prototype autopilot.introduced the hardware system of the Autopilot.designed the circuit of the flight control system and the driving circuit of each sensor.A flight control program for the newVTOL is designed,The feasibility and effectiveness of the VTOL are verified by the flight test.
