Design Of Edge Detection System For The Pantograph Slide Based On Image Acquisition By Smartphone

The pantograph is an important connection part between contact line and electric locomotive.The pantograph’s function affects the safety of the locomotive operation directly.As a direct contact part between the pantograph and the contact line,the strip will change the sharp of the original edge due to the abrasion.The strip that doesn’t conform the morphological index must be replaced immediately.The traditional method of detect the edge of pantograph strip is artificial measurement.The existing automatic detection device has many problems such as high installation requirements,long debug cycle and high equipment cost,and cannot be installed on a large scale.The edge detection system for the pantograph slide based on image acquisition by smartphone is designed.The system used the smartphone at the fixed position to shoot pantograph when the locomotive is put in storage,and smartphone transmit the image to the host computer and to get pantograph edge detection results through image processing.The hash algorithm is used to contrast image on smartphone,in order to upload the images that may contain pantograph and trigger image transmission.The image is transmitted to the host computer through the wireless transmission services in the Internet.According to the characteristics of pantograph in image,the program of target edge detection in host computer is compiled to realize the extraction function of pantograph strip edge in image.Through the design of the software and hardware of the system,the pantograph strip edge is extracted in field experiment,and the automatic detection of the pantograph strip edge is realized.The detection system has the characteristics of low cost,fast installation and debugging and low requirements for installation,and can be used as an auxiliary detection method for artificial measurement.
