The Construction Approaches Of Campus Landscape Cultural Characteristics Based On Typology

Since the 1990s,China's higher education has experienced a period of rapid development.Thus a large number of campuses have been built up quickly.Under the influence of globalization,the construction of some campuses only emphasized their functions,which results in high-speed and"mass-production" phenomena and the campus landscape's lack of cultural characteristics.Consequently,the landscapes of different campus are often too similar to each other.Taking the campus landscape as the research object,this paper introduced the typology theory into campus landscape study.Under the guide of the typology theory,this paper explored the Archetype and the construction ways of the cultural characteristics of campus landscape through the methods of literature review,cases analysis,comparative analysis,inductive and deductive research.Based on the analysis of the development of campus landscape in China's and foreign campuses,this paper summarized the characteristics of campus landscape and its cultural characteristics in each historical stage,and made a comparative analysis is explored.Although the campus landscape shows different characteristics in different historical periods and geographical conditions,the Archetype is shared by all the campuses,regardless of the different historical and geographical conditions.In other words,it is the essential cultural characteristic of campus landscape.Finally,the paper explored the construction ways of cultural characteristics of campus landscape.From the aspect of campus itself dimension,cultural characteristics can be constructed by considering the historical space,the subject characteristic,the cultural spirit,the pluralistic space;from the geographical dimension,cultural characteristics can be constructed by combining the regional natural characteristics and the regional humanities characteristics;from the campus overall historical development dimension,cultural characteristics can be constructed by using traditional layout pattern,classical landscape pattern and reappearing traditional spatial characteristics.So that in future campus landscape construction,we will be able to grasp the essential cultural characteristic "enlightenment mind",and build campus landscape with different cultural characteristics.
