a kind of steel plate wall with butterfly shape is put forward to provide lateral stiffness,the logic for a butterfly-shaped link is to better align bending capacity.such alignment leads to more distributed yielding.steel frame-butterfly-shaped steel plate wall system could balance simultaneously the stiffness and energy disipation effectively.Primary research contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)A simplified mechanical model for butterfly fuse was given and elastic initial stiffness of steel plate shear wall was established,and then verified within the environment of Abaqus.(2)within the environment of Abaqus.hysteretic loop analysis of the steel plate wall was conducted for two parameters,such as,ratio of height to thickness and ratio of width to thichness.Research results show that,Both the load carrying capacity and elastic stiffness of the steel plate shear wall increase in different extent with increasion in the ratio of height to thickness,and hysteretic loop of the steel plate tends to be plumper and equivalent viscous damping ratio is higher.moreover,Both the load carrying capacity and elastic stiffness of the steel plate shear wall decrease in different extent with decreasion in the ratio of width to thichness,and equivalent viscous damping ratio is higher and energy dissipation is better.(3)When the ratio of width to thichness is 150/8,the steel plate wall can dissipate energy fully before the drift limit(2%)of displacement angle,and it can still disspiate energy after 2%.When steel plate wall have pinching phenomenon,the load carrying capacity will decrase and have less impact on main body frame,and then protect main body frame.(4)the seismic mechanism of innovative steel frame-butterfly-shaped steel plate wall was investigate,the mechanical property of bearing capacity,elastic stiffness,hysteretic loop,energy dissipation was analyzed.Results show that: steel frame-butterfly-shaped steel plate wall system could balance simultaneously the stiffness and energy disipation effectively;Both the load carrying capacity and energy disipation increase in different extent with increasion in thickness of the steel plate wall;the ultimate bearing capacity decreases with increasion in axial compression ratio.
