In the booming construction of high-rise buildings, the office and residential building are constructed continuously by Chinese invest company in Cambodia.High-rise buildings with approximately 50 floors height will be constructed in the capital city Phnom Penh and several Cambodia provinces, which belong to different wind fields.High-rise buildings structures are sensitive to wind.Wind loads and wind-induced response are very important factors for structural design of high-rise buildings. This paper uses high frequency pressure test(HFPT)to study characteristics of aerodynamic wind load and wind-induced response of high-rise building with square section,in an effort to provide reference for construction of high-rise buildings in Cambodian. The main contents are as follows:(1)High frequency pressure wind tunnel tests of high-rise building with square section have been carried out in two wind flows, with length scale of 1:400.Based on the wind tunnel tests, characteristics of wind load, such as wind pressure, drag, lift and torsional force coefficients, are provided both in time domain and frequency domain.(2)Based on the wind loads drawn from wind tunnel tests and the assumption of structural vibration mode, the wind-induced displacements and accelerations of high-rise buildings are analysis in two wind fields, with the variation of damping ratio, natural frequency, using random vibration methods.(3)Wind loads and wind-induced responses have been calculated according to the specifications in ASCE codes, which are used in Cambodian for structural design.By comparison the results drawn from wind tunnel tests and ASCE code, some suggestions have been given.
