Research On The Space Protection And Renewal Of The Historical Building-kailu In Kuanzhai Alleys

Kailu,a historic building located in the Kuanzhai Alley of Chengdu,is a modern representative historical building.The building has unique architectural characteristics,which combined the national northern alley and the Sichuan western folk houses.It truly depicts the characteristics of traditional culture of Chengdu City,and has a special value for the modern historical architecture.However,due to the influence of urban construction and commercial development in recent years,Kailu is facing the contradiction between protection and development.This paper investigated the current situation of Kailu in Kuanzhai Alley,analyzed and summarized the construction history,characteristics and cultural connotations of the historic buildings.Based on the research,the author found out the main issue in the protection of Kailu and explored the way of protecting and updating.This research mainly summarizes and proposes the conception and design scheme for its protection and renewal from the aspects of architectural characteristics,architectural space,and surrounding environment of the building.
