In recent years,due to the rapid development of China's economy,accelerating the process of urbanization and regional integration,the inter-city distance has gradually narrowed,and the highway connecting the inter-city is also different from the traditional "highway",which has different functional requirements with the development of the region along the line.Therefore,it is very necessary to put forward a clear concept of the inter-city highway,to analyze the functions of different sections along it,to establish the classification criteria of inter-city highway functions,and to select appropriate key control factors.Firstly,introducing the theories of urban planning and regional economics,based on the analysis of the formation mechanism and development process of inter-city region,this paper discusses the demand of regional economic development for inter-city traffic,and studies the impact of inter-city development on inter-city traffic from the aspects of inter-city spatial form,the connection between highway and urban road,and analyses the relationship between regional structure and corresponding traffic.The characteristics of inter-city regional traffic composition,traffic flow and traffic demand are discussed.Secondly,the concept of intercity road is put forward,the service object of intercity road is determined,the construction and operation status of intercity road in Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta are investigated,the traffic characteristics and construction development characteristics of intercity road are analyzed,and the differences between intercity road and highway and urban road are summarized,and the functional orientation of intercity road is determined.Then,through the relevant theory of traffic economics,the influence area along the intercity road is determined by the comprehensive analysis method combining traditional geometric partition method with qualitative analysis method,and the building density of the influence area along the quasi-intercity road is collected by GIS software.The area along the quasi-intercity road is divided into urban planning area,planning influence area and field highway area by using spss.22 to process data.The function classification matrix of intercity roads is determined quantitatively and qualitatively by selecting four indicators: service area,accessibility on both sides ofthe road,main body of traffic and expected speed.Finally,according to the function classification matrix of inter-city roads,the selection of key control factors of inter-city roads is determined.The key to select the key control factors of inter-city road is how to choose between highway and urban road design norms.On the basis of investigating the selection of key control factors of intercity roads in Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta,the technical grade of intercity roads is analyzed,and the selection of design speed of intercity roads is studied.On this basis,the selection criteria of intercity road design vehicles,service level and building boundary are studied.
