The happen of the earthquake is due to the earth's internal activities of the crust movement,it always accompanies with huge destructive, and compared with all kinds of natural disasters, its occurrence is very common,There are three major earthquake zones in the world, and China is located in two of them.It is constantly squeezed by the Pacific plate and the Indian-Ocean plate, making Chinese seismic activities very frequent. In the process of experiencing the earthquake, the building structures on the ground will suffer certain degree of damage or even collapse. It is of great significance to accurately evaluate the damage degree of the structures after experienc the earthquake and determine whether it can continue to be used.In the aspect of aseismic design, the criterion of aseismic design in our country comes from the three-level fortification requirements stipulated in the code.In recent years, with the development of the construction industry and the diversification of architectural functions, the seismic requirements of different building structures become more different, which requires changes in the job of design. In The Performance-based seismic design, different anti-seismic treatment measures are adopted according to different anti-seismic performance levels demands required by the users,to ensure the seismic response of each part of the structure under the action of earthquake can meet the predetermined requirements, and achieve the task of meeting the preset seismic performance target, this kind of design method can maximize meet the requirements of users for building aseismic,so in recent years, this kind of design method has been developed well.In this kind of design concept,we have to preset the performance goals of the structure, and damage is a concept that can reasonably describe the seismic response of structures, therefore, the damage degree can be assumed to be a kind of structure performance target for performance-based seismic design.Accurate description of the damage degree of the structures or the components under the action of earthquake becomes the premise of performance-based design of damage. In recent years, the application of steel structure has been greatly developed, not only in quantity but also quality are far beyond the past.In the design of steel construction, the influence of earthquake must be considered, and the research on the damage of steel structure under the action of earthquake is of great significance bothto the design before construct and the reinforcement after construct. To accurately describe the damage of components and structures under the action of earthquake,by studying the existing damage evaluation methods, and on the basis of them, through the establishment of high-rise steel frame structure finite element model and carries on the elastoplastic time history analysis, analyse the damage characteristics of the structure under the condition of earthquake, put forward a kind of double parameters structural damage evaluation model which considered both of the storey drift and plastic energy dissipation, and it is suitable for high-rise steel frame structure in component level. Then an evaluation model of floor damage based on component weighting is proposed and applied.Through the seismic damage analysis of the structure, the damage development of the structure under the action of earthquake is summarized, and the location of the weak storey is analyzed according to the damage development, and then a reasonable optimization method is proposed.
