Driver Distraction Characteristics And Intervention Method Research

The technological advancement of the automotive industry and the extensive application of advanced road safety assurance technologies have made the safety of vehicles and roads much better than in the past.In order to further improve the overall safety of the human-vehicle system,the driver’s bad driving behavior monitoring and correction is indispensable.In recent years,with the popularization of personal smart phones and in-vehicle multimedia information systems,coupled with the increase in the traffic density of road traffic environment and the increase in the amount of road signs information,the combination of these two factors has resulted in a decrease in driver performance.This makes the proportion of distracted driving high in all kinds of bad driving behaviors.Therefore,the construction of the driving distraction scale;the study of the behavior characteristics and psychology characteristics of distracted driving;the design and implementation of driving distraction behavior intervention experiments improving the driver’s bad driving habits and the overall safety of the human road system has significance.The specific research content of this paper is divided into the following three aspects:(1)The driving distraction scale that meets the reliability and validity requirements is built.First The typical behaviors and scenarios related to driving distraction are extracted.Second,basing on the relevant research of Theory of Planned Behavior,decomposed and refined the dimensions in an operationalized manner step by step,and the preliminary writing of the content of the driving distraction scale is completed.After that,the initial survey was conducted on the initial distraction scale.Through project analysis,exploratory factor analysis,reliability test,and validity test,the items are gradually deleted and the driving distraction scale finally applied to the formal questionnaire is constructed.(2)The behavior and psychology characteristics of distracted driving are analyzed.Firstly,the distribution of drivers’ demographic characteristics and the various distracting behavioral characteristics are analyzed by descriptive statistics.And then,the relationship between distracted driving behavior and demographic variables is analyzed.Besides,K-mean cluster analysis method is used to cluster analyze driver groups.Based on the analysis of psychological characteristics,the relationship between psychological and demographic variables is analyzed.Finally,based on the main methods of planning behavior theory,the fitting estimation of structural equation model is carried out,the influence of each latent variable on distracted driving behavior is analyzed,and the relationship between each path coefficient and demographic variables is analyzed.(3)Conduct cognitive intervention training courses and evaluate the effects of interventions.On the basis research on the distracted behavioral and psychological characteristics,the experimental program of cognitive intervention was launched,and the intervention training experiment was conducted for the intervention group and the control group driver.The effect evaluation of the intervention experiment was carried out from two dimensions.The effectiveness of the intervention methods and the persistence of the intervention training effect are tested by independent sample t-test.The results show that there are significant differences in the psychology characteristics between the intervention group and the control group,in the scores of the distraction behaviors between before and after the intervention.It indicates that the intervention experiment achieved good results in effectiveness and persistence.
