Along with the accelerating urbanization process,the problem of Tidal congestion which was caused by the separation of workplace and residence has seriously impact on urban traffic congestion.Variable-lane technology is an effective measure for the tidal congestion in single road,but not for road network.Improving the efficiency of tidal lanes plays an important role in solving the problem of tidal congestion.Firstly,this paper summarized the basic theory of variable lane and takes the "tide corridor" in Westlake District Hangzhou as the object of study.Then,this article detailed analyzed the traffic characteristics of "tide corridor" and the reason of traffic congestion with time series analysis method,and designed an optimization plan of signal distribution.Finally,an comprehensive evaluation method were used to evaluate the validity of the optimization plan,mainly in the following three aspects:1、Based on the traffic data from Monday to Friday which gathered from On-the-spot investigation and Hangzhou microwave testing platform,this paper takes time series analysis methods to analyze the tendency,then conducted the reason of traffic congestion that was the unreasonable lights timing from the data analysis.2、This paper detailed analyze the effect of traffic congestion and designed an optimization timing scheme of two intersection signal.Group dynamics algorithm has been used to keep each intersection iterative update in order to realize the real-time signal timing plan until the signal timing gradually stable.And software VISSIM was used to simulate the optimization scheme.The simulation results show that this algorithm is superior to the status quo.3、This paper built the evaluation system for "tidal corridor" signal timing scheme upon the two aspects of cross and road and evaluated the schemes by FAHP,which combined the advantages of Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation(FCE),and an optimum solution is determined.Traffic data time series analysis,the signal optimization timing plan,comprehensive evaluation was put forward in this paper for "tidal corridors" Hangzhou Westlake District tidal traffic congestion.Therefore,the proposed method can serve as a useful tool to plan,design,optimize the tidal lanes and thus provided an important theoretical basis for relevant government departments for traffic management.
