| Nowadays, the traffic problem is increasingly serious, which has become many cities’ big concern. This is mainly due to the rapid development of economy in our country, the ownership of the motor vehicle increases dramatically, the traffic demand grows generally. China’s big cities are faced with this conundrum, due to traffic congestion, the waste of energy, the efficiency of the city, also caused serious noise pollution and air pollution. With the improvement of the China’s city construction step by step, it is high time to pay more attention to the study of traffic problems, to do a good job in transportation planning and to avoid redundant construction. To construct a reasonable urban layout is so important for a cities’long-term development. This study selects a small but important point in the field of microscopic traffic simulation, it is about the intersection traffic problem handling. Intersection locates in the position of the hub in the traffic network. It is easy to happen the traffic accidents. If the intersection does not function well, it is easy to cause traffic congestion and reduce traffic efficiency. Simulation study of the intersection traffic conditions, therefore, can find out the cause of the traffic problem and improve the traffic efficiency through channelizing and signal timing optimization, which is of great practical significance.This paper studies the microscopic traffic simulation technology home and abroad, mainly introduces the research phase, research content, the achievements as well as the mainstream traffic simulation software. This article selects the microscopic simulation software VISSIM to carry out the simulation process on the intersection. The paper introduces how to build a simulation model in details, the two main methods, channeling and signal timing optimization. In signal timing optimization section, this study selects the optimal timing software Synchro to optimize time signals, which can design a better solution, and then import the optimized solution into the VISSIM model, to ensure optimization measures are effective. Finally this paper carries on an empirical research, to select a typical intersection in Beijing, the Dawangqiao intersection, and use VISSIM to simulate and put forward optimizing measures, and this process can provide some research suggests that the city traffic network can be more effective, which can embodies the research value and significance of traffic simulation. |
