With the development of urbanization in China and the improvement of the living standard of the citizens,the comfortable and healthy environmental pursuit has become the life goal of the people.Afforestation of city as a carrier to create a pleasing urban environment as a source to provide fresh air,has constantly received the government's attention and the public's affection.Roof greening is an integral part of urban green construction and is extremely crucial in the course of urbanization construction where the effective green area is highly limited.The development and research of roof greening in China started very late.Although some cities have made relevant policies and incentives,the greening rate of roof is still relatively low and correlative studies are also very few.This paper chooses 'A Study on the Impaction of Roof Greening on Building Thermal Environment in Xiamen'as a research direction and makes a study on the influence of roof greening on building thermal environment of Xiamen which is in hot summer and warm winter zone.From the development of roof greening and research status at home and abroad,we finally choose the experimental measurement of roof greening with pergola as a case via the analyses of the historical climatic data of Xiamen and the changes of urban thermal environment and the comparison of the advantages.The influence of roof greening on the thermal environment of buildings has been studied,and the comparison and analysis between the actual measurement and the computational fluid dynamics software simulation have been conducted.The air temperature,the roof floor temperature,the indoor ceiling temperature,the indoor air temperature,the indoor thermal comfort,the indoor black ball radiation temperature and so on that influence the thermal comfort of human body have been recorded at fixed intervals.And then the indoor and outdoor thermal environment parameters of the roof greening room and the adjacent room without greening treatment have been analyzed.The measured data show that the outdoor surface temperature of the roof can be reduced by 3.25 ?,the ceiling temperature by 1.51 ? and the indoor air temperature by 0.69 ?.Methods of improving indoor thermal environment by using roof greening have been proposed,based on field measurements and CFD software simulation analysis.The results show that roof greening can improve the thermal environment of buildings to a certain extent,and is a good measure to expand the urban greening space,increase the amount of urban greening and improve the living environment of the residents.
