| Auxiliary Power Unit, hereinafter referred to as APU.In 1963,Boeing 727 the first APU-equipped civil aviation jet was introduced, greatly reducing the dependence of airliners on airport facilities and allowing passenger planes to fly to smaller or more remote airports.Since then, the prelude to the widespread use of APU in the civil aviation field has been opened.Firstly, using the APU GTCP 131-9B produced by Honeywell as an example to introduce the current application, operation and maintenance, and main APU manufacturers and products of the APU in the civil aviation field. It also introduces its functions on civil aircraft and the application of various stages of the flight.A preliminary introduction for line maintenance and shop repair work.Secondly, the structural characteristics of the APU,the functions of each component and the operating principle of the APU are introduced.A systematic understanding of the components that may affect the on-wing time and reliability of the APU.Thirdly, take Honeywell’s performance monitoring software PTMD as an example to illustrate the benefits of current airlines performance monitoring of APU for line maintenance and shop repair.Starting from the principle, plus the experience of my own line maintenance troubleshooting,I can analyze the main faults that may occur on the APU in field that will affect the on-wing time and reliability of the APU.Based on the APU shop repair process, workscope definition and repair workscope strategy, the APU shop finding and product upgrades are analyzed. Finally, combined with the previous fault analysis of line maintenance and shop repair, the maintenance strategy of APU is studied based on actual cases.A good maintenance strategy can help improve the on-wing time and reliability of the APU.Reduce maintenance costs for airlines and repair shops. |
