As Wuhan’s urbanization is gradually stepping into a completely urbanization stage and the citizen’s llife is getting better,the citizen’s need for the public transportation is changing from the quantity and quality.Also the editing of the master planning and transportation planning of Wuhan calls for challenge to the layout of public transportation.The public transportation is acting as an important part of public resource,and the station is the main carrier of the public teansportaion’s service,the reasonability of the public tansportaiton station’s layout is influencing the citizrens’work and life,the same to the efficiency of a city.The study of the public transportation’s layout nowadays mostly using the traditional travel forecasting method which care less for the need of people.So a set of urban public transport staiton layout system research methods from the perspective of "people" demand is needed.This study bult a research method system of public transportation station layout based on the Homo Urbanicus theory which is proposed by Mr.Hok-Lin Leung,and the method system of public transportation station layout has carried on the empirical research in Wuhan.This paper was divided into six parts.The fitst part introduced the change of citizens’ need for public transportation,the challenge of the editing of master planning and transportation planning of Wuhan and the persuit of people orientated planning.And put out the the research significance,goal,content,method and technical route.The second part of the paper researched and analysed the practice of public transportation planning and the criterion of public transportation station’s layout,the study of Homo Urbanicus and the practice of commuting and accessibility.The third part is the core of the study,which built the study method of public transportation station layout based on the study of Homo Urbanicus’s research paradigm and value.The system takes the citizens and the planners and the constructors of the city,a pair of "typical homo urbanicus",as the basic subjects in the planning research and makes accessibility of station as the measurement of matching degree by means of questionnaire,and the like,analyzing the relevance between the basic properties and the characteristics of public transportation station;reaching the consensus from the rational service radius;applying defining the indicators,Habitat factors comparison and economic geometric analysis,and the like,to formulate planning indicators and strategies.The forth part is conducting the pactice of the method in part three in Wuhan by investigating the two groups of archetypical Homo urbanicus,trying to finde the consensus of the public transportation station’s service radius and the satisfactotion of the station.Also the evalutation of the coverage of public transportation station,the supply and the need of the station of all the streets in Wuhan is conducted,followed the extraction of the typical street,and the comparison analysis of habitat factors.On the basis of empirical research,the fifth part put forward specific measures about how to regulate the public transportation station’s layout in three ways:selecting indicators,comparative analysis and economic geometric analysis,also the reasonable habitat scale is put forward At a reasonable public transport site service radius and public transportation travel time.The sixth part was the conclusion and prospection.This paper summarized some results and innovation in our study.It also analyzed the shortcomings during the empirical research and the case selecting,and the future research directions are prospected.
