This thesis conducts a survey about the plants landscape along the 54 trunk roads(covering 59 standard sections)in the urban district of Nanchang.On the basis of a thorough analysis of the plants in terms of the life form,family distribution,application frequency,native plants application,ornamental characters,species diversity,configuration,road cross section types,greening rate,greenery coverage and noise reduction grade,this thesis presents a comprehensive evaluation about the plants.The main achievements of this thesis are as follows:1.There are 55 families,80 genera and 112 species garden plants along the trunk roads in the urban district of Nanchang.The ratio of arbor to shrub to hedge to ground cover is close to 5:3:3:2.There are 46 species in ornamental flowering plants,which covers 41.1%;41 species in ornamental foliage plants,covers 36.6%;17 species in ornamental form plants,covers 15.2%;8 species in ornamental fruit plants,covers 7.1%.The top 5 plant species among the rank of application frequency are respectively Camphora officinarum,Osmanthus fragrans Lour,Photiniaxfraseri,Ligustrum sinense Lou,Loropetalum chinense var.rubrum2.The 10 road sections with the highest composite index of plants diversity are respectively: Fenghuang Middle Avenue#2>Huang He Road>Gan Jiang North Avenue>Fenghuang North Avenue> Xue Fu Road>Qianhu Avenue>Fuhe North Road> Fenghe North Avenue#2>Fenghe North#1>Honggu Middle Avenue#2.The manifestation of the composite index of plants diversity,richness index,Margalef index,Shannon-Wiener diversity index and Pielou evenness index all reflect the trend as arbor>hedge>shrub>ground cover.3.There are 6 types of the cross section along the 54 trunk roads(covering 59 standard sections).Among them,the three-board-four-zoster type covers the biggest part of 37.3%;the second bigger one is one-board-two-zoster type which occupies 23%;the smallest part is the five-board-six-zoster type which only has 1.7%.The “arbor + ground cover” greening mode is mostly-applied(39 times),whose application frequency is 66%.4.The average greening rate,percentage of greenery coverage and the noise reduction grade of the investigated trunk roads are respectively 28.3%,41.7% and 6%.Among them,the road sections like Qian Hu Avenue,Lushan South Avenue,Hongdu Middle Avenue and Honggu Middle Avenue#1 rank the top at the greening rate,percentage of greenery coverage and the noise reduction grade.The plate-strip of the road,the greening tree species and the plant distribution mode will all affect the greening rate,percentage of greenery coverage and the noise reduction grade.The greening tree species exerts a biggest effect on the percentage of greenery coverage.Meanwhile,the plant distribution mode determines the noise reduction grade.5.With the AHP evaluation method,10 standard road sections are graded the first class trunk roads,18 the second class,24 the third class and 7 the fourth class.The top 5 road sections with the highest comprehensive scores are as follows: Honggu North Avenue(12.53)> Fenghuang Middle Avenue#2(12.45)> Honggu Middle Avenue#2(12.4)>Fenghuang South Avenue(12.26)> Qianhu Avenue(12.72).
